Briarwood Golf Club is currently accepting applications for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Briarwood Golf Club opened in 1995 and is a private, 18-hole, member-owned, full-service facility located in Ankeny, Iowa.

The 2nd Assistant will aid the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent in maintaining the golf course in tournament ready condition and at the highest standard of excellence for the enjoyment of our members and their guests. The 2nd assistant reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Education: One, two or four-year certificate or degree in turf, horticulture, or agronomy Pesticide license: must have or be able to obtain an Iowa Pesticide Applicator License within 60 days of hire.

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance

Salary: $20-$24/ hour, commensurate with experience

Duties:

• Assist in training and supervising golf course maintenance staff.
• Ensure staff are operating equipment safely.
• Make certain that maintenance programs are being followed.
• Pesticide and fertilizer applications, up-to-date record keeping.
• Operate and trouble shoot irrigation system and make repairs.
• Drainage installation
• Promote a positive work environment for staff.
